Driving Toward Opportunity: Passport Academy Partners with A’s Vision to Prepare Students for the Future
Four-Week Driver’s Education Program Equips Students With Real-World Skills, Confidence and a Path Toward Independence
March 11, 2026

Students at Passport Academy Charter School are so excited about this program that they’re showing up to school on Saturdays! That’s when PACS partner A’s Vision offers driver’s education courses to help students get on the road with confidence, first with their learner’s permit and ultimately with their driver’s license. The collaboration is just one way PACS empowers students to live successful, responsible lives beyond the classroom.
A’s Vision regularly brings its four-week Driver’s Education Program directly to Passport Academy students, helping them prepare to pass their learner’s permit test and take an important step toward opportunity and independence.
For many young people, earning a driver’s license represents more than just the ability to drive. It’s a milestone that opens doors to employment, entrepreneurship, higher education opportunities and increased personal responsibility.

“We want to ensure our students are as ready as possible for whatever path they want to take after graduation,” said Joe Oliphant, PACS principal. “Whether they choose additional education or begin their careers, a driver’s license will provide them with both stability and flexibility.”
A’s Vision and Passport Academy understand that in today’s world, transportation access can be a critical factor in pursuing career goals and achieving financial stability. By offering structured instruction and preparation support, the program helps students feel confident and prepared as they take this important step into adulthood.
This partnership reflects Passport Academy’s continued commitment to preparing students for graduation and their lives afterward. By bringing practical, real-world learning opportunities into the school community, the school is helping students build confidence, responsibility, and independence.
"We look forward to working with Passport Academy students every year," said A's Vision founder, Aaron Wade. "They are a great group of young adults and we take pride in helping them prepare for their future."
For parents and families, programs like this provide reassurance that students are gaining essential life skills in an attentive, supportive environment. The partnership represents another example of strategic collaboration that enhances student opportunity. PACS is invested in student development and preparedness, in and out of the classroom.
“I’m grateful I attend a school that doesn’t just teach lessons, but drives futures,” said Asa Garland.
Founded in 2019, A’s Vision was created with a clear purpose: to give back to the next generation through mentorship and life skills development.
While the Driver’s License Program serves as the foundation of the organization, A’s Vision’s work extends beyond the road. Their broader mission includes:
- Financial fundamentals education
- Workforce development support
- Violence prevention initiatives
- Ongoing mentorship and youth advocacy
At its core, A’s Vision is committed to building stronger communities by investing in young people through sharing experiences, offering guidance, and most importantly, listening to the voices of youth.
