PACS Temporarily Relocates to Champion Commons Building in Garfield

By January 31st, PACS teachers, administrators and students will move to their new location for the second semester.

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” – Walt Disney

This month, the PACS community is relocating to a new, temporary home: the Champion Commons Building in Garfield. While this won’t be the school’s final destination, the building will be an excellent space for teachers and students to complete the school year. The location of the school’s permanent space will be announced ahead of the fall 2026 school year.

The Champion Commons building previously housed the Neighborhood Academy, (a 6-12 school), which ensures it has the physical infrastructure required to educate students and help our mission supporting each of our students through their graduation.

This transition is occurring because our current building’s owner is moving forward with planned development and renovations. With student learning our top priority, PACS is making this temporary move to ensure students can continue the school year in a space that’s ready for our community from day one.

While our address will change, what makes PACS special won’t: our partnerships, programs and hands-on learning experiences will continue to thrive. We’re staying closely connected with our partners and stakeholders to ensure continuity in the opportunities and systems that help our students grow academically, socially and emotionally.

“PACS's address may change, but the heart of this school never will. Our children are resilient, our teachers are dedicated, and this community is strong,” said Dr. Kyaien Conner, PACS Board Parent Representative. “Adjusting to change is part of life, and I am confident that this transition will be another learning opportunity for my son.”

Details about PACS’s permanent home, as well as tentative timing, will be shared with our community as soon as they are confirmed. We’re grateful for the continued involvement of our families, staff and partners, and we look forward to sharing what’s next. In the meantime, questions can be directed to PACS principal Joe Oliphant: joliphant@passportacademycharter.org

“We are deeply committed to a seamless transition for our school,” said Oliphant. “We believe our students will adjust to this change quickly, and remain committed to our shared goal: each and every student walking across the stage for graduation.”
